HOW TO BECOME A CRA QUALIFIED RECYCLING PROFESSIONAL (QRP)

A QRP of the CRA is a person that is recognized by the Association as being trained in the skills needed to understand and perform in the waste reduction and recycling industry.  A QRP will have a solid foundation and a broad understanding of the industry’s principal areas and components.

The PRQT is an intensive 3 day course in the CRU that is followed by a take home test.

To earn recognition as a QRP, an individual must successfully complete the PRQT test based on the course offered by the CRU.  Successful completion of the test requires a score of 80% or better.  Upon successful completion of this test, the individual will receive a Qualification Degree signed by the Executive Director and the CRA President and will have this degree on record with the CRA.

Test Requirements

Solid waste and recycling officials in the public sector (State Regulators, Public Works Managers; County/City Managers; Solid Waste Directors; Recycling Coordinators) recycling professionals in the private sector (business owners; industry specialists) teachers, and the general public should attend this course for the broad knowledge to be gained.

To qualify to take the PRQT test a person must meet one of the following criteria:

1)

Fully attend a PRQT course offered by the CRU. The test will be offered at the end of the course.

2)

Demonstrate 5 or more years of project, career, or management related experience in recycling, waste reduction, and/or solid waste industry.  Individuals will be required to document this experience to the CRU in advance of taking the test.

Becoming a QRP offers access to the latest educational tools, networking opportunities, and recognition for your training efforts.

As a registered course attendee you will receive a copy of the course manual that is yours to keep as a reference guide.
